Professor Haifan Lin is a professor Cell Biology, of Genetics, and of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, and Director of the Yale Stem Cell Center. Dr. Lin received his BS degree from Fudan University and his Ph.D from Cornell University. Dr. Lin has made key contributions to stem cell research, including the discovery of a novel class of non-coding small RNAs called PIWIinteracting RNAs (piRNAs), which was hailed by Science Magazine as one ofthe ten scientific breakthroughs in 2006.
